The concept of bodily autonomy is central to the Arizona Reproductive Justice Coalition’s vision that Arizonans are entitled to access all resources to live healthy, dignified lives, free from stigma, discrimination, and violence in all forms.

Bodily autonomy is a tenet of reproductive justice, a framework to help address intersecting oppression and center the most marginalized Arizonans to ensure that policies provide protections for the most vulnerable.

Reproductive and Birth justice is the complete and uncompromising autonomy of one’s own body and choices.

It means having access to basic and specific needs people need to function in daily life. We need to uphold an accountability model that strives for transformation and healing through the dismantling of racism, sexism, transphobia, anti-Blackness, misogynoir, ableism and ageism in their entirety- especially in medical facilities and educational institutions.

A reproductive justice framework where non-hetero-normative comprehensive sex ed is available to all, direct and easy access to services and resources are available and easily located, and family planning materials are culturally and individually appropriate is the bare minimum.

Political Education

We combat ignorance through active study and dialogue. We reject the assessment that reading and self-education is a pastime of the elite.

We believe that education is necessary to create the foundations for abolition and true justice. Without political education- without actively pushing back against ignorance, we will be pushed further to the margins and those most impacted by the harmful course of our society will further go unnoticed and unprotected.

Political education can happen anywhere- digitally, in the park, a classroom, a living room; it can happen alone, with a partner, or in a group. The most important feature to be successful is just that it happens. It creates an infrastructure of learning, growth, and understanding that can continue to be built upon even after the goals of abolition are met.

Mutual Aid

Only through relevant, meaningful action do we hope to meet the needs of the community.

Should a community member need funding, housing, support, transportation, or even just a safe space to participate in activities, we aim to provide people that have been systematically deprived of resources and physical and emotional well being in the US space and opportunities. By openly providing food and childcare we hope to enable people to build a relationship with us and thus their community in order to live and thrive.
